Delayed Blogging
Blogs may be few an far between for a while. We're all banned from the internet except job oriented sites at work. The creep I work for has had a boot placed up his ass by his superiors and he's such a crappy manager, all he can do is take it out on us. I'll be blogging and writing from home, and I'm on a dialup connection here. Can't get DSL and cable and satellite high speed are very expensive. So hope to keep up as best I can.

Yikes! I'd croak if I had to go back to dial up!!
And I like your blog, one of the unexpected side effects of being part of the Wednesday Hero Blogroll is being introduced to good blogs like yours :)
I'm laughing but I know its not funny. When I worked at the County our boss got mad at one of the dispatchers and banned her from the internet.... It was funny because the dispatcher worked nights and our boss worked days.... and who was gonna tell on her.
Kathi, Thanks for your support and please come back. I'll do what I can where I can.
Rebekah, I'd find humor in it too if this latest insult to our dignity wasn't coupled with other punitive matters. Such as, no cell phones, no instant messaging, threats of written reprimands for failing to clean the complete center and the kitchen (this is a large busy center and the kitchen is used by others besides us)threats of reprimands and days off for every infraction (slow response, CAD mistakes that the software's responsible for, failure to kiss the officer's asses, failure to be absolutely obediant to him and his female toady, slouching in your chair, any negative conversation , lack of patience with idiotic callers, on and on). No one is on our side, the director seems to hate us all since he screwed up and nearly lost his job. His toady, is a dominatrix type who loves punishing people and trying to lay it off on the supervisors. A miserable place. I am trying very hard to get out. Get this, no matter how much sick time we have accumulated we cannot use more than 60 hours per year, or we get put on probation for 3 months, and must bring in a Doctor's excuse for any sickness we have while on probation, and cannot use any vacation time. If we use 120 hours (remember we work 12 hour days) we get 6 months probation, same doctor's excuse business, and suspension for a length of time they see fit. Now on top of that, we are expected to volunteer for three days of non-paid on-call (paid if we are called in) then we get an extra on-call day for each sick day we used for that month. If anyone knows someone who can check on the legalities of this please do so and let me know. In the meantime, I'm thinking of ditching my eight years with the county (21 months till I'm vested) before this place kills me.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the toady and the director take as much time off as they want, are not covered by the sick leave policy, and they have suspended all vacations for everyone except themselves. I swear, I am not exagerating at all. This is the way it is.
Oh man! That is soooo dejavu for me. The commissioners got onto my boss at the county and she pulled the exact some crap. She even listens to personal phone conversations and then tells other people about your conversation. Despiter her I loved working at the county. I loved the action and the people I worked with. She is still there and I am waiting for her to get fired so I can go back to work there.
I can laugh but thats only because I sooo know what you are going thru. I empathize
Thanks Rebekah. I've started looking elsewhere. I guess from your comments that's what you did too. Hope all is well with you and I enjoy your blog.
Do you ever read the Dilbert cartoon? It sounds like the point haired boss quit the computer industry and came to work over you guys.
I suspect the internet is a nice diversion from some of the calls you 'get' to take. It's no fun to have a doofus for a boss, who can't stand up for his people.
Hang in there...
